RESIDENT EVIL 5

Cover of the game
source : http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/a3/RE5BOXART.jpg

Resident Evil 5 is the seventh installment of the Resident Evil saga. Although named after number 5, there are some other installment of the saga which has the game's name in it but is not a number. Resident Evil 5 is produced for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 console. There is also a version made for the PC.

Gameplay:

The game feature is very similar to Resident Evil 4. Players are still able to aim with the laser and fire at will instead of auto aim like in the previous installments for the Playstation1 and Resident Evil : Code Veronica X , Resident Evil : Outbreak, and Resident Evil : Outbreak File #2. Players will have to aim with the L1 button but and to fire, instead of pressing the button X, the player will have to press the R1 button.

The 'Follow Up' attack is still feature as well. When an enemy is down on the floor is injured, players can press the button displayed on the screen to damage kill the enemy. Now, the graphic for this game is enhanced and much more realistic. It lets you interact with the game's surrounding much more.

Resident Evil 5 has a new system for the game. Players are accompanied by another AI or partner. It can also be played in two-player mode. It is co-operative in which players must work together to help one another. Also, the game now only allows each player to carry up to 6 items only.

Also, players reunite with Resident Evil's Hero : Chris Redfield, a character which they will control. They will also be able to control a new character named Sheva Alomar. An african woman who is fighting against bio-terrorism.

Synopsis:

Chris Redfield is now working for an anti-bioterrorism organization, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance. The game is set six years after the destruction of Umbrella, the corporation that lead to the Raccoon City incident. Chris is assigned to investigate the smuggling of Bio terrorism weapon in Africa by a man named Ricardo Irving. He was informed that his partner will be there to meet him. He is then dropped to Kijuju from a helicopter. Upon arrival, he met with Sheva Alomar, his partner for this mission.

They travelled through the village of the Africans to meet up with the man who will provide them with weapons. The villagers seem to behave strangely and looks at the pair as if they wanted to kill them. As they arrived at the butcher shop, the man brought them to the kitchen and there, Sheva and Chris obtained weapons and gears needed to accomplish their mission. As they travel further, they are assaulted by the African Villagers who has gone wild. They had to shoot them and escape. The pair soon finds out that the villagers are fed with some weird giant leech-like creature. It is the Las Plaga, just like the ones from Resident Evil 4 except that these are improved. The man who provided the weapons to the two agents was then executed. His head was cut off by a very big muscular man, who covered his face with a mask and wields a gigantic axe, known as the Executioner. The infected then tries to kill Sheva and Alomar in which they did their best to save themselves and requested for the chopper to help them by blasting missiles to the place they were in to clear a path.

Chris and Sheva continued to rendezvous with the Alpha Team. Unfortunately, the Alpha Team was wiped out. A leech like monster appeared and Sheva and Chris killed it. The leader of the team managed to warn them about Ricardo's betrayal and hands them a file. Soon, they meet up with the leader of the Delta Team, Josh Stone and he gave Chris a memory card with research materials. One of the picture was Jill Valentine, Chris' partner who died in a mission in the past.

As Chris and Sheva continue their journey to uncover the truth about Irving's betrayal, Chris also tries to find out more about Jill. During their journey, they met a Ricardo Irving along with another person who was cloaked and very mysterious. The cloaked person gave Ricardo a control parasite and he soon mutated into a monster as well. Sheva and Chris has to fight him and kill him in the process. Before dying, he mange to utter the name 'Excella Gionne'.

Who is the cloaked and mysterious person? Who is Excella? Who is behind all this plot? Play Resident Evil 5 to find out more about the Resident Evil Saga. This game is promising and at the same time much more action filled than the previous installments.

Additional Information:

As you complete the games, there will be bonuses for the taking. There will still be 'The Mercenaries" mode. Secret outfits for Sheva and Chris are also part of the bonus.

Ratings for the game:

Chris: 5/5

Khai: 5/5

Fitri: 4/5

Opinions for the game:

Chris (NOT CHRIS REDFIELD) : The most incredible installment of the Resident Evil saga. The game is much more action filled and the infected are now much harder to deal with. The boss are much harder and this provides a lot of challenge. The games has a long story that keeps you guessing about what will happen next. The best Resident Evil installment so far. Highly recommended to Resident Evil lovers and also those who enjoy hard core shooting and adventuring.

Khai : Incredibly amazing audiovisual presentation. Excellent, bloody, in-your-face shooting action, the suspenseful, lengthy storyline keeps you guessing, astonishing boss battles and plenty of extras give lots of replay value. Awesome game, recommended to brave players only.

Fitri : Resident Evil 5 is so much more better than Resident Evil 4. Playing it in two-player mode makes things much easier because you are able to protect your partner. Sometimes the AI won't be much of help in critical situation. I recommend this to zombie-shooting lovers.

SILENT HILL 4 : THE ROOM

Cover of the game
Source : http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/ab/Silent2002.jpg

Silent Hill 4 : The Room is the fourth installment for the Silent Hill series. This game is different as the protagonist of the story only stays in his apartment and at the same time, is not in Silent Hill. The previous installments sets the story with their protagonists in the town of Silent Hill. This game is released for the Playstation 2, Microsoft Xbox and for PC.

Gameplay:

As said above, Silent Hill 4 is very different compared to the previous installments. Instead of running around and fending off monsters non-stop, Silent Hill 4 provides a much more unique gameplay. The players will only be able to fight monsters in the 'Other World' after passing through the 'strange' hole in the toilet of the apartment where the protagonist lives.

Players take control of protagonist, Henry Townshend, When in his apartment, the game has the first person view but in the Other World, the game changes view to third person view. In this world, Henry can fend off the monsters with various weapons such as the golf club, wine bottle, handgun, pipe etc. Also, new monsters will be featured in this game including ghosts. The ghosts cannot be killed by physical hits or gunshots. The ghosts will always arise after being beaten up on the floor. As players progress through the game, they will be able to have an ally, who also happens to be Henry's neighbor in the apartment, named Eileen.

Play Silent Hill 4 : The Room. It is guaranteed to give you nightmares or fear in real life. There are 4 endings for this game. The endings are determined by how you play and how you protect Eileen. Enjoy the game.

Rating for the game:

Chris: 5/5
Khai: 4/5
Fitri:4/5

Opinions for the game:

Chris: Silent Hill 4 : The Room is the most interesting and scariest installment so far. The monsters and graphics are enhancd. The gameplay is so much more unique. The tension and fear of this game just keeps getting higher and higher. However, I am a bit disappointed with the fact that the 'Nurse', a human zombie that will always attack you physically, is removed from the game. Overall, a great game and is suggested to BRAVE PLAYERS ONLY and those who loves all the Silent Hill previous installments and the series.

Khai:
Silent Hill 4: The Room is an interesting sequel that attempts to branch out in several areas of gameplay and setting while remaining true to the psychological thriller-style that's always set the Silent Hill series apart from more action-oriented scares. While not all of the changes made necessarily serve to enhance the series, the dark, gripping storytelling is what allows this game its Silent Hill credentials. If you're an existing horror fan or a Silent Hill fan, Silent Hill 4: The Room is certainly worth looking at

Fitri: I don't have much to comment on this game. It is just too scary for me to play. I played the game for a few hours and didn't play it properly as it just creeps me out every single minute. I suggest it to brave players only.

SYNOPSIS

Fiona Belli has somehow found herself in a strange castle, which appears to be somewhere in Italy or maybe Germany, due to the presence of the Bisque Doll that is mainly from Germany and when the maid cooks the spaghetti noodles, mostly cooked in Italy.. She has just been involved in a car accident with her parents, but her memories of this accident are vague. When she awakens, she finds herself in some sort of large butcher's room. Realising that the cage that keeps her confined is left unlocked, she steps out but is startled by a large, fierce animal snarling and then running past her. She quickly begins searching for some answers and a way out of the castle. Along the way, she befriends the animal that initially frightened her, who is a white German Shepherd named Hewie, and who turns out to be a valuable ally. As Fiona continues exploring the castle, learns that she is the carrier of Azoth, something that the castle's residents are after.

The first enemy is Debilitas, a large, mentally disabled man. Debilitas chases Fiona around the castle and is stopped by Riccardo. Fiona meets Riccardo and Daniella and finds letters and memos given to her by a man named Lorenzo who wants her to escape the castle. Fiona and Hewie are chased by Debilitas to the chapel. The way in which the player ultimately eliminates Debilitas influences the outcome of the endings. If Debilitas is killed, ending A will not be able to be obtained. If the chandelier is dropped on him, then anding A can be obtained.

After Debilitas is rid of, a new enemy is introduced. She is the castle's maid, Daniella. Daniella is jealous due to the fact that Fiona can smell, taste, touch or "experience pleasure". This foreshadows her later intimation, immediately before her boss battle, that she cannot engage in sexual intercourse. Daniella wields a large shard of broken glass which she gets from banging her head on the window. If players talk to her when she is kneeling at the fire place, she will use a hot poker instead, having much more damage.

After Daniella dies by being impaled to the ground by the big shard of glass, which broke from the ceiling due to her high pitched scream, Fiona and Hewie continues to find a way out and another villain is introduced. The new villain is Riccardo, he covers his face most of the time and wields a very old classic pistol. He reveals his face when Fiona is cornered in the forest and he is actually having the same face and Fiona's father, Ugo. He explains that they are clones and that he is now the original with Ugo dead. He wants to use Fiona to birth clones of himself to be immortal. If players do not have a good friendship with Hewie, he will not come for Fiona and the ending D is obtained.

The final boss is Lorenzo, a crippled old man at first but then he is more than meets the eyes. He can crawl and super speed. He also has different forms. He will be killed by making him fall in a pit of lava but..... To find out the secret, play Haunting Ground and enjoy it!

Chris: 5/5

Khai: 3/5

Fitri: 4/5

Opinions for the game:

Chris: It is much much better than Clock tower 3. The game has much more challenge and the panic mode provides an even more scarier feeling. I suggest this game to adventurous and puzzle loving players! Also, instead of sprinkling holy water to the enemies, players can toss Antimony to ZAPP the enemies and this shocks them for a while for the player to escape.

Khai: This game is okay.... But it's more like playing Hide and Seek rather than fighting the pursuer. I suggest this game to brave players.

Fitri: This game is like an improved version of the Clock Tower 3. It's good to know that the protagonist is now able to kick the enemies and also, throw electrical items. I suggest this game to those who loves to play Clock Tower 3.

CLOCK TOWER 3

Cover of the game. The main protagonist of the game, Alyssa Hamilton.
source : http://pt.compra-vende.eu/upload/photo_div/371_ps2_clock_tower_3.jpg

Clock Tower 3 is a survival horror game developed by Sunsoft and published by Capcom. It is very different compared to the first two Clock Tower games. Instead of having the 'point and click' system of playing, Clock Tower 3 features a different system. Players do not use the 'point and click' system. Players will use the normal way of playing. But the panic system is still featured in the game. It is also the fourth installment of the Clock Tower series. Clock Tower 3 does not have multiple endings as well. It has only ONE ending.

GAMEPLAY

Game play is simple. As mentioned earlier, the 'point and click' system is no longer featured in the game. Instead of always escaping and trying to hide to prevent from being killed, a new feature has been introduced into the game. Players are able to sprinkle Holy Water to the pursuer to slow them down and provide time for escape. It is not infinite. It must be refilled everytime it is finished either from a jar or from a fountain with a lion's head that has water flowing from its mouth. There will also be hiding spots and some offense objects that can be used to halt the pursuer. The offense objects may cause the pursuer to faint or stop for a while only.

There will be pursuers that will always try and kill you. If your panic meter reaches its maximum, you will not be able to control Alyssa's movement but only control the direction of where she is running to. If you are confronted when in Panic Mode, it's good-bye. GAME OVER. Using Lavender Water will help you escape this situation. The Invisibility Band makes you invisible temporarily to escape from the pursuers while the Sigil Stone will help you by taking a hit during panic mode and prevents you from dying but it will break.

There will be ghosts and vengeful spirits that will try and harm players. By giving Sentimental Items to the corpse of the spirits, it will calm them down and let them ascend to Heaven. They will give you informations or useful items in return.

At some points of the game, players will have to fight the pursuers or 'Boss'. In this situation, the bottle will turn into a bow. Players will be able to fire energy arrows. Holding down the 'Triangle' button for a few seconds shoots a slow arrow that has not much damage. Holding it for a while will shoot a charged arrow with decent damage. Holding the button for at least 10 seconds will fire the strongly charged arrows that will hit and transfix the pursuer in one spot. If the pursuer is transfixed with too many of these arrows, then a Super Attack will be performed.

SYNOPSIS

Alyssa Hamilton is a 14-year-old student that lives in the boarding school. She has a mother and a grandfather, who went missing for a few years. Everything was normal until she receives a strange letter from her own mother, Nancy. In the letter, Nancy told Alyssa to hide until her 15th birthday is over. She said it was to escape from something bad. She was worried and when the her name was announced on the P.A system that there was a phone call from her mother, she rushed to the telephone only to find out, nobody was talking.

Worried, she rushed back home, a boarding house, and looked for Nancy. As she entered, she called out for her mother a few times but there was no response. Suddenly, the doors to her left opened and a rather big sized man appeared before her. He was the Dark Gentleman. When Alyssa asks him whether he was one of the lodgers, he replied saying that he is one of the lodgers. But there was still something odd about him. He told Alyssa about Nancy and warned her about dangers which seemed to be brought by him.

Although scared, Alyssa continues to search for her mother. AS she explores the house, she saw strange symbols on a door. This made her unable to open it. Then, the fire at the fireplace disappeared and the wall in the fireplace crumbled. She crawled through the hole and check what was inside. There was a statue of an Angel. But then, blood flow from the statue's eyes and its head fell off leaving behind a bottle and a letter from Nancy. The bottle contains Holy Water. The Holy Water enables her to open the doors with strange symbols simply by sprinkling some of the water.

As she searched her mother's room, a piano started playing. There was no piano in the house and this made Alyssa panic. All of a sudden, she was warped back through time. When she walked out the door, she finds herself in England during World War 2. She continues to search and eventually ends up at a tailor shop. She then witnessed the murder of a young pianist, May Norton. May was murdered by Sledgehammer, a serial killer who wields a sledgehammer. Alyssa then escapes from Sledgehammer and finds a way to help May. After putting pieces of information together, Alyssa was successful in finding a way to help May. Alyssa needs to give the pocket watch, belonging to May's father, to her.

As Alyssa reached the Concert Hall, she was ambushed by Sledgehammer and she then fought him with her bow, the Holy bottle turned into a bow. She killed Sledgehammer and was able to free May. May then ascends to Heaven with her father, thanking Alyssa for her help.

When Alyssa returns home, she learns about the Rooders and Entities and Subordinates. Alyssa is a Rooder, young woman that has the ability to communicate with the dead. They will have to fight against the Subordinates, people that are infected by the Entities that drives them into crazed murderers. She also obtains help from her old friend, Dennis. Alyssa will have to face other subordinates as well such as Corroder, Scissorman and Scissorwoman and Chopper.

What will be the fate of Alyssa and her mother? Play this game to find out more!

Rating for the game:

Chris: 3/5
Khai : 4/5
Fitri : 4/5

Opinions for the game:

Chris : The graphic of the game is dated but the storyline and gameplay is good. It is scary at some points of the game and the pursuer just come at you with a very LOUD noise that makes your heart jump. The character you use in clumsy and timid adding more panic feeling to the game. I suggest this game to brave players only or those who loves horror surviving game.

Khai : It is mostly a welcome change of pace from the typical survival horror formula. It's kinda interesting to play a game in this genre where your character can't fight back. The powerless feeling as you flee from a pursuer adds more scariness to the game and it also have excellent production values and interesting storyline. I would recommend it to brave players only.

Fitri : This game is old but despite its poor graphic, it still provides a scary and heart-pounding moments. It would be better if the main character can use some kicks or punches instead of just sprinkling holy water to slow the enemies down. Overall, a great game. It would be much more scarier for players if they play it on the year it was release. Recommended to brave players only!

FIFA09 PS3

The myth that EA makes the bimbo football game and Konami makes the cultured one is probably dead by now. FIFA has long since put its dark, deformed days of knee-length grass and knee-deep gameplay behind it, and with this 2009th installment it delivers solid, realistic football along with its trademark compellingly polished presentation. And careful, because it probably is trademarked.

What's more, it got more good ideas than FIFA's dad, Sepp Blatter, has had in his entire career. There's Adidas Live Season, which allows you to download form updates for your favourite league, and benefit from them in exhibition, ranked online matches and Interactive Leagues. Interactive Leagues were a good idea from last year, you may remember; you pick your favourite team, and then play against people who represent your next real-life opponent. Worldwide results in these fixtures determine worldwide positions on the Interactive League table. (The game will also support the FIFA Interactive World Cup.)

FIFA09 also allows you to define tactical presets, and then map these plans to a d-pad menu, so if you go behind late in the game, you could push your full-backs forward and press for an equalizer at the touch of a button, or if you're 2-0 up you could load the midfield. There are slider bars for all sorts of variables, and toggles for things like playing the offside trap. As ever, whether your team can do all the things you ask of them is down to their individual stats, and you still have the option to pick and tweak standard formations, set up man marking and kick takers, and drop Dirk Kuyt even though you love him, in the standard way.

'FIFA 09' Screenshot 1

Getting to grips with Be a Pro is like being on Faking t, but in time you can make a serious impact.

All of this comes in handy when you're playing with friends, and there's a new mode for that too. Lounge mode invites you to set up a league with up to 19 friends and then use "cheap shots" to give yourself pre-game advantages, like extra goals and reduced opposition performance stats. Or you can play them online in the 10-versus-10 games that rely on the "Be a Pro" mechanic introduced in FIFA08, where you control one player for the whole match. Pre-release we couldn't get enough people together for this, but we wouldn't recommend anybody trying it out without practicing offline first.

Good thing, then, that there's a companion single-player mode, Be a Pro: Seasons, where you get four campaigns to try and rise through the reserves and first team to become captain of your country, as the game put ticks and crosses against your name for moving into the right positions, completing passes and tackles, scoring goals and contributing to positive results. Online FIFA09 Clubs allows you you to set up a clan, effectively, and then compete for selection in Be a Pro online games. Whether online or off, you can use a typically robust character creation suite to define your player; from the name on his shirt to the sweatbands an his wrists. Well, that's just his torso, thinking about it, but you can also do how he looks, and whether he's got a stupid headband and poncy boots.

'FIFA 09' Screenshot 2
The PS3 and 360 versions both run smoothly, although the PS3 version lacks Trophies and seems to have Vaseline on it while the 360 has more tearing.

Manager Mode, EA's attempt to compete with Konami's revered Master League, also returns in tweaked but not expanded form, even though it's not mentioned on the box or in the manual. It puts up another stern test, allowing you to play around with a transfer budget, field weakened teams in the cup and get turfed out by your board if you don't win enough games, which you control in standard fashion. Konami purists may feel it's a bit light next to their obsession, but it's buckets more shiny water in a vast, vast well here, which also includes licensed leagues from across the world (Premier League, Championship, League 1 & 2 and FA Cup from England), though with randomised fixture lists.

If this were old-days FIFA, we'd now moan that it's all very well having more options than Starbucks, but it all looks a bit indulgent when you football moves around on a secret network of arching conveyors and the score's 16-7. Not anymore, of course, and FIFA09 rams the point home with the emphasis on physical midfield battles and possession football, where teams hold their shape and press, and jostle with great effect, and it's up to you to exploit them by dragging defenders out of position, switching the play and paying attention to personnel. Slide tackles haven't much place here, and sprinting is best saved for decisive openings, or you'll run out and continually lose the ball as it moves a fraction out of control with every step. Meanwhile, pressing with two players at once - the default tactic for impatient defenders - does more harm than good, particularly as the refs are officious to say the least.

Along with the tactical presets on the d-pad (or analogue stick, if you switch them around), you also have a broader range of skill moves, accessed by holding a shoulder button and wiggling the right stick in prescribed patterns. The right stick also handles your first touch when receiving the ball, and elsewhere in the increasingly complex control system are various holding moves, jockeying options, fakes, dummies and shot or pass modifiers. As ever though, a player with a good eye for space and movement can get by with just a few buttons and no in-deptg knowledge of the fancy bits, even of ot never hurts to bone up.

'FIFA 09' Screenshot 3
Transper details appear to be up to date, with Robinho at City, Spurs full of new face and Grumpatov at Man United.

FIFA09 may want a certain type of passing football to succeed, then, but it's also built on a bedrock of good ball physics and realistic player behavior, and it's not quite as mean around the box as PES used to be, so while the goals are hard to come by, they can be spectacular. Volleyed and driven shots are particularly fearsome, and while 25-yard potshots won't work as often as placement and good build-up, you rarely feel like the ball is caught under your feet when you should be in prime position to really murder it home. The only slight disappointment is how little joy we had from corners and wing play. Cutting inside to pass it to the striker was always a better ploy, as the physical presence of centre-halfs and the goalkeeper turfed us out of the box on most of the occasions the ball arived in the air. Particularly strong aerial attackers, like People's Hero Peter Crouch, are exceptions, but it's odd to see the likes of Torres coming up so short.

Otherwise, there are only complaints about unimportant details. There's one irritatingly persistent bug that spins your player round when he's running onto a loose ball, which looks odd and often costs you possession, and there are other times when your teammates apparently lose all sense of time and place, as well as the traditional football game grumbles of the player-select button selecting a player you didn't want, passes going to the player next to the one you meant, and button presses getting buffered for the next player on the ball, who passes it harmlessly into touch when you wanted him to run with it.

'FIFA 09' Screenshot 4
Watch out for everyone o n the receiving team doing a little warming-up jig at kick-off. It's hypnotic.

On the whole though, the depth of choice on and off the pitch makes up for these things. FIFA09 feels like a proper football game. It used to pretend to be football, dressed up in face masks and gluey boots, but these days football is exactly what it's computing. And the face masks are prettier too. Likenesses do vary in quality (Crouch looks like a tanned smurf, for one), but the animation is phenomenal, and there's so much subtle variation in the visual language EA's defined that we could swear they've even replicated stuff like Kuyt's shambling gait. But then perhaps we're just imagining it, or expecting it, because the game's otherwise very convincing. It always be your brand of football, and you can ask for more, but only by degrees. The myth is dead. "Let's FIFA".

Ratings of the game:
Khai : 5/5
Chris : 1.5/5
Fitri : 5/5

Opinions:
Khai : The footballers now have extremely realistic motion capabilities and when they collide there is a plethora of realistic animations which bring the game to a new level. Not only this but the off ball antics are incredibly well polished, players run into free space and will make calls for the ball while defenders will try to notify the linesmen of offside players by waving their arms and motioning. These may sound like small additions, however in the grand scheme of things they bring a more realistic atmosphere to the environment.

The matches are extremely well paced and unlike many they reward the skilled and patient player ... the best way to score goals is with measured build up play and skilful use of free space.

This year the individual players have more pronounced skill sets so spending some time getting used to the individual strengths and weaknesses is a great way to enhance your game play. FIFA has a unique trick system which is operated by the right analog stick and this enhances the depth of game play for hose willing to invest the time to learn the methodology.

Those of you used to playing PES might find the jump to FIFA09 rather difficult because this is definitely more simulation oriented than the quick play style that PES brings to the table. This means the goals and tasks at hand are not so immediately accessible and while this might seem a negative aspect, in reality the game flows much better and makes the end result much more satisfying.

Other enhancements over the 08 edition include better ball movement, meaning the game looks more graceful and the team works better as a cohesive unit.

This added realism may not appeal to everyone however if you like your football games strictly arcade style with one or two button presses then this might seem like overkill. There are quite a few settings to alter the game speed and how much the computer will aid you during play. It would be safe to say in fact that regardless of which option you want to alter, the game will allow for it.

As always FIFA is loaded with content and the presentation is of the highest standard I have seen. All the leagues are faithfully represented which is sure to appeal to football fanatics across the globe. Commentary is supplied this year by Sky Sports Andy Gray and Martin Tyler and for the most part it is a success, there are occasional errors in the dialogue but the voices work well and add a great deal of immersion to the proceedings.

Manager mode is worth a mention and although it is not quite as good as the PES Master League it is a nice diversion as you work your way through various clubs boardrooms. Be A Pro is also a fun game mode as you take a newbie from the reserve ranks right up to the upper echelons of club and international game play.

The graphics are very well designed and considerable time has gone into the detail, each of the major teams are accurately rendered with the individual players mirroring their real life counterparts very closely.

The audio is equally as impressive and each of the clubs has their own audio scripting for the fans, for example if you are playing at the Manchester United ground you will hear " Glory Glory, Man United" echoing across the terraces.

Online support has also been improved on both the Xbox360 and Playstation 3 with the new Adidas Live Season, a feature which gets statistics from the real life football matches on a weekly basis to keep everything exciting and fresh. There is also a great new mode which allows for 10-vs-10 online play, quite why no one ever thought of this before confuses me! It is hugely addictive.

It is fair to say that FIFA09 is a return to form on a variety of levels, both with single player and multiplayer game modes. EA have done a great job of creating one of the most immersive and in-depth football games ever. I actually think they have managed to knock Pro Evolution Soccer off the top spot and that alone is a huge achievement. If you like football at all then this is not just highly recommended, it is a must have.

Chris : Honestly speaking, I am not much of a sports game fan. I find it quite boring and not fun at all. However, I enjoy watching people play. But, the graphic is good enough. I enjoy playing Role Playing Game much more than this. I don't really want to suggest this game to anyone though, this is because i do not know much about football or any other sports game. I prefer playing the sport itself instead of playing it on a video game.

Fitri : The game seems realistic enough! It is fun and provides the feeling as if you are the real footballer himself. It will be even better if you are able to play it with your friends or people around the world since PS3 is able to go online. If you enjoyed the previous Fifa games from the PS2 console, this I suggest you to play and have at home.

TALISMAN ONLINE

What is Talisman Online?

Talisman Online is a free MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game.) Some people might go, "It's free? Must be crap then!" - WRONG! Not all free MMOs are crap. This game does have a pay option too, but the creators are fair to everyone. The only thing you can buy with real money is something called T-Points. With T-Points you can buy special items, which you can later sell in game for high prices, or keep to use. That's all though. There are no limitations on where people can go. There are no "Members-Only Zones."

Storyline

The residents of Talisman Online lived on a peaceful continent. However, evil grew. Master Blood began to destroy everything, only to make him stronger. The continent quickly became Hell. Master Tian Meng stepped in with four other accomplices to defeat this evil. Master Blood was defeated and sealed into an ice cube. Master Tian Meng wanted to prevent evil from rising again, so Master Tian Meng, along with the accomplices, taught people (the 5 Juntas) the ways of fighting. 500 years later though, the ice cube has disappeared, and the continent is flowing with evil again. Now it is up to you, and the friends you make along the journey to defeat these growing evils.

-(Full Story Here)-

Professions & Talismans

As said in the story, Master Tian Meng, along with the accomplices, taught people the ways of fighting. Now it is time to learn what exactly you can be in Talisman Online. There are two types of Talismans. Weapon and Assistant. What the creators have done, is instead of having a bunch of weapons, like a Level 7 Weapon, and a Level 8 Weapon, they give you a Weapon Talisman, which can be enhanced as you level, making them stronger. Assistant Talismans can be enhanced too. How do you enhance? By spending energy. How do you get energy? By killing enemies and doing quests.

Now about the five juntas:

-level 60 Fairy, Wizard, Monk, Assassin, Fairy-

-Wizard-
Wizards are probably the most well-balanced profession there is. However, each profession has strength and a weakness. Wizards are very strong, but they have to cast magic, and their casts can be interrupted when someone or something attacks them. If people are smart enough though, they can learn combos along the way to where their enemies can't even attack them. Why? Wizards are long-distance fighters. They don't have to be in close-range combat, nor should they be, with all the spells they have. A really good thing about Wizards is that they have the best AOE (Area of Effect) in the game, which is given at Level 30. If you choose to use Water weapons, then at Level 30 again, you have two powerful AOE spells, and if used right, can easily kill 3 or more enemies at one time without them attacking you.

Wizards use the weapons, Swords and Blades. Swords give them the power of Fire, and Blades give them the power of Water. As for Assistant Talismans, they have Ice Shield which can increase their defense and slow down their enemy, Longbrow Needle which can increase a target's intelligence and make a monster faint, Tao Symbol which has the powerful AOE spell and increase Fire/Water damage, and Warm Jade which is useless, it decreases a monster's enemy value and can wake people and things from faint.

-high leveled wizard-

-Monk-
Monks are hard to control in my opinion, others might disagree. These are the tankers for the game. They have the power to interrupt enemy attacks, however if they're being attacked from far away, then they're screwed for a little bit until they reach their enemy, because they have few long-distance attacks. I tried my luck with a Monk, and did not understand it. I can't really say much about them, except when used in teams, they are very helpful because they can take all the damage.

Monks use the weapons, Shovels and Staffs. Shovels give them the power of Buddha, and Staffs give them the power of Fire. As for Assistant Talismans, they have Diamond Sutra which has an AOE spell and can absorb damage, Heart Lotus which can slow down enemies and increase Buddha/Fire damage, Treasure Loop which increases health and release from a frozen status, and Buddha Bone which increases enemy value and forces enemies to attack you.

-beginner monk-

-high leveled monk-

-Assassins-
Assassins are the strongest, but the weakest in defense. If you become an Assassin, you'll level up really quick, but you'll be sh unned. What do I mean by that? Simple. When the time comes to do team quests and places, because Assassins are weakest in defense, they're basically going to be obsolete, because they'll be dying the fastest. Even though they are the strongest, when it comes down to Elite Bosses, they're bad. Playing as Assassins first is recommended for beginners, just to get the feel of the game.

Assassins use the weapons, Simitars and Daggers. Simitars give them the power of Lightning, and Daggers give them the power of Poison. As for Assistant Talismans, they have Hasty Shoes which increases speed and dodge rate, Theurgy Bell which freezes an enemy and increases defense, Array Flag which decreases enemy value and increases magic defense, and Dragon Roc which has an AOE and recover from slow. (Some people might notice they use Simitars but it’s supposed to be Scimitars)

-beginner assassin-

-high leveled assassin-

-Fairy-

Possibly the best profession in the game. Fairies have the power to cure people, and themselves. Which makes them the best. You can be fighting a boss, and be dying, and heal. Or better yet, they have a skill which they can use to attack their enemy, drain their HP, and transfer it to their own HP. However, like Wizards, they have to cast magic, which can be interrupted. Another downside is people are always going to go up to you if you're a Fairy and say "Buff", "Buff", "Buff". What is Buff? Buff is where a Fairy increases a target's HP. Don't be confused, it increases, not heal. Meaning, if your HP was 880, they can increase it to about 960 maybe. Depending what level their Buff-Skill is.

Fairies use the weapons, Pearls and Wheels. Pearls give them the power of Buddha, and Wheels give them the power of Lightning. As for Assistant Talismans, they have Treasure Leaf which heals and revives a target, Wonder Needle which gives the spell that leeches an enemy's HP and increases a target's HP (Also cures Poison), Purple Cloud which causes damage to an enemy and does the same for an enemy's pet, and Purple Cowry which causes damage to an enemy and absorbs damage (Also gives a % rate to auto-revive after death)

-beginner fairy-

-high leveled fairy-

-Tamer
-

Tamers rock. It's interesting that the two best professions, (Fairy and Tamer), are both female. I'm not being sexist, I just find that interesting. Tamers are the best at soloing anything, because Tamers have the ability to catch a monster and make it their pet. With their pet they can attack enemies, and use a skill in which the enemies MUST attack their pet, even if the Tamer is attacking back. And of course, Tamers can heal their pet during battle. Pets make them good, but can slow them down as well. Let's say you're a Level 20 Tamer with a Level 5 Pet. You'll suck. End of discussion.

Tamers use the weapons, Bows and Crossbows. Bows give them the power of Water, and Crossbows give them the power of Poison. As for Assistant Talismans, they have Pet Bell which heals/revives a pet and increase the pet's enemy value, Jade Vessel which increases damage and slows a target (Also decreases an enemy's attack), Nature Booklet which increase a pet's physical defense and attack (Also recovers from slow), and Trap Meshwork which sets Fire and Ice traps on the ground and damages the enemy.

-high leveled tamer-

Quests

Now to take a short time to talk about Quests. Quest types are fairly simple. Some quests you have to kill a certain amount of something. Some quests you have to kill a Boss. Some quests you have to get an item drop from an enemy, which can get annoying because let's say you have to get 10 of something, it might take you 30 kills to get all 10. While other quests you just have to deliver a something to someone. Quests are unique because the monsters will be different and drop different things, but you'll realize that they can be repetitive.

More Features

  • Over 15 Different Areas to Explore - They're not small areas either.
  • A Guild System - So you don't have to play the game alone. Remember, TEAMWORK to Victory.
  • A War Game - Every week there is something called the "Blood Palace War", mostly used by Guilds, you and your team must defeat the evil bosses that emerge, and of course other players.
  • Scenarios - Special areas of which players are usually in teams, or if they're high-leveled enough to solo, fight Elite Monsters and Bosses. Elite Monsters and Bosses are more difficult than regular ones because they'll have higher HP, defense, strength, etc.
  • Mounts/Pets - That's right! You can mount things! Currently, you can mount Tigers, Bears, and Horses. Tigers are the most common, because Bears and Horses you have to buy with T-Points, or for very high Gold prices. Also, there are Pets. Yes, Tamers have Pets, but these Pets don't attack, they can increase your HP, your Mana, or they can auto-pick up items from dead monsters so you don't have to, etc.
  • Friendly Community - Most of the community in the game is friendly, however a majority of people that play don't speak English. This might be a tad problem to some.

Rating of the game :
Khai : 4/5
Chris : 4/5
Fitri : 4/5

Opinions :
Khai : The game can be very fun if you make it fun. Some people find enjoyment out of killing everything that moves, while others play in teams and quest together. I myself play the game to kill time when I'm bored and also as a stress reliever. Sometimes after school, for no reason at all, I'll get very moody which would make me want to punch someone or the walls but I don't want to hurt someone or make holes in my wall. So my enjoyment comes in from killing these ugly floating heads called "Vampire Ghosts".

The game runs smoothly depending on your computer. Most games that I play are very slow for me because I have a laptop. However, this game is an exception and runs extremely well, I barely ever lag in it. The only time I lag is when going to Stone City because that's where a lot of people are located.

Once someone gets to a high level, they might get bored. However, they can easily create another character of another profession and find the game more fun. That's what happened to me, I got bored with playing as an Assassin, so I tried Wizard and loved it. Then get bored with that, and I'm now a Fairy. I don't think I will get bored with a Fairy seeing as how it took me less than 10 hours to get to Level 20. That's just how good Fairies are.

The game is fun, the people are friendly, you can make friends in this game, and it's worth a play. The game does have flaws though. I think the creators don't speak English well, because there are some parts in the text of the game that don't really make all that much sense. You can figure out what they mean, but words can be moved around. Another flaw is in some skills, like a Fairy's Buff, it'll say it lasts 10 seconds for some reason, yet it lasts 20 or 30 minutes. Big difference.

Other than that, the game is still fun and people should try it. If you’re interested in the game, see the Official Site URL, read the game guide to learn more about it, and if you’re still interested at that point, download it. Also, if you do decide to play and need help with anything, then PM me, I’ll be glad to help out.

Chris : This game is actually quite fun. The graphic is good enough for the game. I've only played it once or twice but overall, a good game. I suggest it to those who loves online games that allows you to play with your friends. It's fun to hang out in the internet every once in a while.

Fitri : The game is quite interesting, I've seen my friend play it. The magics and skills are very eye catching. You can make some friends from different countries. Playing with some friends might make things much better.

“What will you fight for?” - Tagline
Gameplay : Final Fantasy Dissidia is another game developed by Square Enix for the Playstation Portable. It is also an addition to the Final Fantasy Series. The game reunites players with the 20 characters, 10 heroes and 10 villains, from Final Fantasy installments. The game is unique compared to the previous installments. Players are able to fight in a 3-D environment. Apart, from that, it is the first Final Fantasy game that allows player to fight and attack by clicking the attack button and does not have to wait for his/her turn to fight.

Dissidia also allows characters to move around as they please. The players are able to interact with their surroundings, for example: running up the walls, grinding etc. For the player to win the game, he/she must attack their opponent to gain Braver Points. Every time they land a successful hit, they will obtain Bravery Points and the opponent’s Bravery Point decreases. Should the player obtain Bravery Points that exceeds the opponents’ HP, he/she will have the chance to win. The player should just press the HP attack button but the opponent will be able to dodge it as well.

There will be 10 scenarios for the game. Each one is about how the Heroes obtain their crystal. The heroes are trying to save the world from destruction and chaos.

SYNOPSIS

A conflict between two gods has been going on for eternity. Chaos, the god of discord, and Cosmos, the goddess of harmony, are fighting one another. Should one of these gods fall, they would be brought back to battle again by the emissary of the gods, Shinryu. Although that happens, the war between the two gods never ended and none of them emerged victorious.

In the recent battle, Chaos and his warriors (Villains from the previous installments of the final fantasy series) managed to beat Cosmos and her warriors (Heroes from the previous installments of the final fantasy series). The battle made each character separated from one another. Most of them were with another hero but only Squall Leonheart and Warrior of Light were alone.

Having thought there was no more hope to win the battle, Cosmos appeared in front of every character and told them to find their crystal. The crystal is the only hope to save the world from chaos. Upon listening to Cosmos’ words, the 10 heroes ventured to find their crystals which were in their enemies’ hand. After obtaining the crystals, the heroes find Chaos and decided to put an end to the eternal conflict.

BONUS CHARACTERS

Players are also able to unlock the bonus characters. The bonus characters are Shantotto and Gabranth from Final Fantasy 11 and Final Fantasy 12 respectively. Players must finish the 10 scenarios to unlock the bonus scenarios and complete them to unlock these two characters.

Twin sisters Mio and Mayu Amakura visited the place where they used to play when they were still children. It was in a forest and the spot they used to play had a river flowing. This was their last chance to remember how it looked like and cherish the time they spent here because a dam was to be built. Mio, however, still felt guilty for what happened to Mayu when they were children. When they were children, Mio ran through the forest with Mayu chasing her from behind. Mayu told her to slow down but she taunts her to keep up instead. This led Mayu to slip from the path and rolled down the side. Ever since then, Mayu has been walking with a limp.

Mayu then spotted a Crimson Butterfly which flew into the forest. She chased it without telling Mio. Mio, who saw her sister chasing the butterfly, ran after Mayu. Suddenly, the forest turned dark and foggy. Mio followed the path and ended up at the entrance of the village, at the hill, where she finds Mayu standing looking towards the village. When she called out to Mayu, Crimson Butterflies flew from behind Mayu.

Having no knowledge on how to leave the village, the sisters decided to explore the village. Slowly, they learnt about the village’s dark secret. The village was ‘All God’s Village’. Dark Shinto Rituals were carried out. Mio learns about the Crimson Sacrifice Ritual, a ritual whereby a twin has to strangle the other twin to death to save the village from a disaster. Should the ritual succeed, the dead twin will become a Crimson Butterfly. The last pair of twins; Sae and Yae Kurosawa tried to escape the village but Sae was caught and had to perform the ritual alone. She believed Yae would come back for her. Unfortunately, Yae didn’t. This made her return from the dead and massacred the whole village. Now Sae uses Mayu as a host and intends to perform the ritual once more. She believes Mio is her sister, Yae.

Will Mio be able to save Mayu and herself from the Crimson Sacrifice Ritual? Will she be able to escape the village together with Mayu to lead their normal life again? Find out by playing the game. There will be 3 endings; each depends on how you perform in the game.

Rating for the game: Chris: 5/5
Khai: 5/5
Fitri: 4.5/5

Chris’ opinion: I highly recommend you readers to get this game. It is very interesting and provides players with a feeling that makes them think there is a ghost beside them. However, I do not suggest this game to people with a weak heart or easily traumatize, to play this as it may have side effects due to the fear from the game.

Khai’s opinion: It is quite scary and has an eerie environment in the game. Overall, a great game.

Fitri’s opinion: It is very fun and very scary at the same time. I suggest those who are scared to play it with someone around them.
